Our associate counsellors are fully qualified and are registered members of one of the accredited registers held by the UK counselling professional bodies (e.g. B.A.C.P., A.C.C. & U.K.C.P.), or they are counsellors in training, working on placement, as part of the final stages of their training. All counsellors, whether qualified or in training receive on-going formal clinical supervision, as a requirement of their practice.

History
The Light House was established in 1986 by three members of a Coventry Church, who had a vision to provide a counselling service which was available to all regardless of ability to pay. The words from the Bible in the book of Isaiah chapter 61, was, and still is, the foundation stone for the work of The Light House and underpins all that we do. In 1996 we moved to our current building in Argyll Street which allowed us to expand and grow our service to the community. The Light House has a heart for those struggling with a variety of issues especially mental health. The Light House is open to all of any faith or none and provides a safe space for non-judgemental and honest discussion. At The Light House we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to explore the issues they face in a safe and confidential space.
